A Month of Thanks – Day 24: Solidarity
Things are tough right now in Perú.
The political, economic, and social challenges of the past 5+ years have become a focal point, and there is an enormous amount of unrest throughout the country. There is a great deal of uncertainty about the future.
We got this. We are okay. The children in our Casa Girasoles are safe and well-protected. Our partners are working hard to support their communities and maintain programs. The staff of HBI is continually connected to the people we serve – taking special consideration to caring for themselves and their families.
Many of you have reached out to express your care and concern for the situation in Perú and the safety of the Peruvian people. Thank you. During times of struggle and challenge, we find strength in our community. We are so incredibly thankful for the solidarity and support we receive from you.
What makes Perú so unique and drives so much of our work – is the extraordinary resilience and fortitude of the Peruvian people. Yes, there is a lot of uncertainty. It would be a terrible understatement to say times are not challenging for much of the country. The Peruvian people are – however, exceptional. We’ve got this!
We are thankful for you and the solidarity of our HBI family.
