Karen’s background in emergency medicine and oncology nursing gives her the ability to constantly balance big picture needs with day-to-day operational details. As the Director of Operations, Karen ensures that all our staff have the necessary resources to function and that our programs are monitored, evaluated, and linked to clear outcomes and will work to direct daily activities to keep HBI in alignment with its vision and mission. Karen graduated in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Public Health from Columbia University – with a focus on vulnerable populations– and continues to work as a nurse at Yale University Hospital.
