Dr. Roberto Tarazona Ponte

Dr. Tarazona, or “Tito” as he is affectionately known, is completely committed to serving others. He studied medicine, graduated as a physician and surgeon, and completed graduate studies in Public Health and Bioethics at one of Perú’s premiere health professions training schools. He has specialty training in Social Management and the Humanization of Health Services Management. As our Director of Comunidad Girasoles, Dr. Roberto currently oversees all child-welfare programs, specifically concerning high-risk children and the boys in the Casa Girasoles homes. He is President of the HBI’s Perú Board, and is also a permanent Deacon of the Catholic Church and member of the Pontifical Council at the Vatican.
