How can we walk alongside families caring for medically-fragile children?
Named after the first child enrolled in the project, the Ines Project helps families experiencing poverty improve their care for medically complex children in Lima, Perú.
The Project works with families and the community to identify gaps in a child’s medical care plan and find appropriate solutions. As a result, families build their self-advocacy skills and gain confidence in navigating public health and social support systems. With the support of government programs and other community organizations, the Project answers a range of medical needs—from providing emergency transportation, to medical specialist consultations, to urgently needed medicine.
Within the next few years, our goal is to extend the network and services of Casa Girasoles Community to more young adults, including adolescent girls.
