A major focus of HBI is to equip and train developing nation healthcare professionals to better serve communities of need. HBI training conferences support the collegial exchange of best practices and evidence based ideas for the development of sustainable care models. Wherever possible in-country experts are recruited to help in these efforts.
Neonatal Resuscitation Training Program (NRP)
HBI is working toward the United Nations Development Programme’s Millennium Development Goals on infant mortality by expanding our Neonatal Resuscitation Training Programs (NRP) to a growing number of medical professionals all over Peru.
Nursing Care Coordination Program
Each year HBI partners with Peru’s Ministry of Health (MINSA), Father Alex Busuttil of the Mission of Alto Cayma, nursing students from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and local clinics and hospitals in the southern Andean city of Arequipa.
